The Heifetz Institute’s mission is to develop the expressive potential of every performer. Through the innovative and cross-disciplinary Heifetz Performance & Communication Training, the Institute teaches musicians to communicate the emotion of music, beyond mere technical agility and beautiful playing, to explore their creative potential, and to redefine the concert experience.
Areas to Support:
Heifetz Summer Institute - The intensive six-week summer program for gifted violin, viola, cello, and piano students. Featuring world-renowned artist faculty and the unique Heifetz Performance and Communication Training, the Institute has won world recognition as one of the premiere summer programs for young artists aspiring for a professional career.
Heifetz PEG - The innovative summer program for gifted young string musicians (violin, viola, and cello) between the ages of nine and fourteen, offered in two 3-week sessions.
The Heifetz Baroque Vocal Workshop - A new initiative expressly for aspiring and emerging professional singers who wish to deepen their understanding of Baroque music and style, through the prism of the Heifetz Institute’s renowned teaching methods.
Ashkenasi/Kirshbaum Chamber Music Seminar - The seven-week program of intense and highly focused study of masterworks of the chamber music literature with two of the most renowned instructors in the world of music, Shmuel Ashkenasi (Curtis Institute of Music; Bard College Conservatory) and Ralph Kirshbaum (USC Thornton School of Music).
Heifetz on Tour - The Institute’s National Program of Career Development and Outreach, featuring Heifetz alumni, performing in venues ranging from schools in underserved communities to major museums and concert halls ranging from Maine to Florida.
